Well... of course command line gnokii works with them, but it also
works without them -> i.e. it doesn't need gtk/glib at all.

and xgnokii. smsd is IIRC based on xgnokii source. That's why you need
it there.

You can have both versions of gtk/glib installed without a
problem. Just use different prefixes.
