Gnokii doesnt work with 6310i

I m running Gentoo 1.4. I have a serial cable.
If I run  gnokii --identify i get (after 5 mins):

GNOKII Version 0.5.4
IMEI         : (unknown)
Manufacturer : Nokia
Model        : (unknown)
Revision     : (unknown)

and if I run gnokii --monitor after 15 mins:
GNOKII Version 0.5.4
Entering monitor mode...
CALL0: IDLE
CALL1: IDLE

and nothing more.

I notice that /dev/gnokii was a broken symlink to /dev/ttyp0, so a
relink /dev/gnokii to /dev/ttyS0.
Can anybody help me?
