Telephone interface init failed: Command timed out

Hello
While trying to send SMS thr' gnokii (MSVC), Initially
I tried with command --Monitor | --identify
but it gives message 
"The fbus stream is out of sync - expected 0x0c, got 
0"
and ultimately gives message "Telephone interface init
failed: Command timed out"

With same set-up (same serial cable/ mobile phone) I
can send receive message from other S/W (Oxygen)


 - phone model = 5110
 - connection type = cable / Serial
 - gnokii version = gnokii-0.5.10
 - gnokii [parameters] = --monitor | --identify

Can you please let me know the reason?
