thanks to all those who replied. i got it installed already on my 
trustix secure linux 1.5 (not 2 as i mentioned earlier).

now the problem is, issuing the "gnokii --identify" command does not 
even acknowledge my nokia 6110 phone. the error was something like...

Telephone interface init failed: Command timed out.
Quitting.

i hope someone can help me with this asap. thanks!
