TO ALL CONCERNED,
If you are not the concerned person, pl. forward it to the concerned person, or
mail me the mail-id of the concerned person.
After going through the article on SENDING SMS ALERTS published in the April,
2004 issue of PCQUEST, I tried that and faced problem as detailed below. Please
give me a solution.
I have a Nokia 6100 phone having firmware version-v5.51, dt. 27-02-04, NPL-2
(L) Nokia. I am unable to connect to the phone from my server running on RedHat
Linux 7.1 (Kernel 2.4.2-2) using original NOKIA DKU-5 cable. The cable has been
detected by the Operating System. If I set the value of parameter equal to
"dku-5", the error "unsupported[global] connection 'dku5'" is given. For other
values , the software is unable to detect the device. I have tried with
gnokii-0.5.8-1 and gnokii-0.6.0-1, both installed from 'rpm'. I have recently
downloaded the 'tar'-ball of gnokii-0.6.1.
Communication between computer and the phone using the same cable has been
tested in a Windows XP PC with the Nokia PC Suite. Eagerly waiting for a
solution. In the local market DKU-5 is the only cable available for use with
6100.
