Nokia 6610i and gnokii

Hello,

I have a Nokia 6610i phone cell. 
The FAQ tells the 6610 (without "i") model is supported by gnokki.

Is the 6610i model also supported?
Can I use the infrared port to link the cell phone
and a linux computer?
Is there a risk?
