I am having problems getting communication to my Nokia 6310i via IRdA using
the MA600 serial dongle. Responses at present are:
$cat /proc/net/irda/discovery
IrLMP: Discovery log:

nickname: Nokia 6310i, hint: 0xb125, saddr: 0xf4551882, daddr: 0x0000284f

$ps ax |grep iratt
  903 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/irattach /dev/ttyS1 -d ma600 -s
 1707 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep iratt

gnokii --monitor
GNOKII Version 0.6.5
Lockfile /var/lock/LCK..ircomm0 is stale. Overriding it..

/usr/bin/gnokii: line 16: 1723 Killed timeout $TIMEOUT

Log files appear to indicate the baud rate is being scanned to find the
correct rate:

Attempting to use minicom does not get very far
$minicom /dev/ircomm0
minicom: cannot open /dev/ttyS1: Device or resource busy

but
$sudo minicom /dev/ircomm0
runs, without getting any response.

Any ideas?

(Operating system is Linux Debian stable)
