writecalendarnote: find free slot?

Is it possible to make gnokii --writecalendarnote append the new note
at the end, without needing to find out before how many notes there
are?  It seems that implementations for different phones differ; if I
read the code correctly, nk6100.c ignores the given location argument,
while nk6510.c finds out the first free position, but ignores it and
uses the provided slot number instead.  Which one is the intended
behaviour?
