problem reading phonebook of Nokia E50

Hi,
I try to read the phonebook of my Nokia E50.
The gnokiirc-file has:

port = /dev/ircomm0
model = AT
connection = serial

and the connection is made via irda.

gnokii --identify 

gives:
[global]IMEI         : 351893012041995
Manufacturer : Nokia
Model        : Nokia E50
Product name : Nokia E50
Revision     : V 3.37.23

so the connection seems to work.

However, gnokii --getphonebook SM 1 -r

gives:GNOKII Version 0.6.22
Error reading from the location 1 in memory SM
Error: Unknown error - well better than nothing!!

Any idea what I am doing wrong, or how to fix it?

Had anyone success with the USB-cable and can give hints
how to use it?
