Hello Daniele
Using
[phone_1]
model = series40
port = 1
connection = dku2libusb
address@hidden: gnokii --phone 1 --identify

IMEI : 356434015976534
Manufacturer : Nokia
Model : RM-274
Product name : RM-274
Revision : V 05.30
I can see the mobile, but still cannot read the SMSs:
address@hidden: gnokii --phone 1 --showsmsfolderstatus
GNOKII Version 0.6.29
No. Name Id #Msg
========================================================
0 SMS Folder 1 F1 0
1 SMS Inbox IN 17
2 SMS Outbox, items to be sent OUS 0
3 SMS Outbox, sent items OU 0
4 SMS Archive AR 0
5 SMS Drafts DR 0
6 SMS Templates TE 0
address@hidden: gnokii --phone 1 --getsms IN 0
GNOKII Version 0.6.29
Getting SMS failed (location 0 from IN memory)! (The given memory location
is invalid.)
address@hidden: gnokii --phone 1 --getsms IN 1
GNOKII Version 0.6.29
Getting SMS failed (location 1 from IN memory)! (Problem occurred internal
to model specific code.)
Any help will be welcome
Thank you,

read this for the suggested configuration:
http://wiki.gnokii.org/index.php/DKU2
>>gnokii --phone 1 -identify
> GNOKII Version 0.6.29
version 0.6.29 has known issues with UCS2 SMS decoding, compile the
git version if you need UCS2 (see www.gnokii.org)
also I don't remember if 0.6.29 will correctly fall back to use the
right functions for reading SMS from your phone
> Product name : Nokia 3109c
can you show the Product name when using series40? This will allow to
choose the right libgnokii functions.
