Dialvoice from smsd -how to

Hello.

I need a quick way to call a system php script from smsd. The sistem basically 
uses gnokii to make a voicecall.

I've tried to add this to smsd.c, in the sendSMS section, runs as it should, 
but it seems it does not get exclusive lock to the phone, because sometimes the 
call does not get trough, some other times sms get lost.

I figure there should be a way to pause smsd to run my script, then resume 
normal operations. 

How can i acomplish this?
