Help wanted

Howdy,

A kind and considerate individual told me this might be the place to find developers to help me solve a problem. The problem (other than my limited knowledge/experience) is the annual extraction of precious farm resources at scale and multitude of problems this creates in a rural midwestern county. The solution (I believe) is a local e-commerce platform enabling producers to easily upload, manage, and sell their product directly to an exponential supply of surrounding customers. Through such a model, the smallest farmer with a garden competes with the largest multinational supermarket.

For example, say you want homegrown tomatoes for a BLT (bacon/lettuce/tomato). You type in 'tomato', sorted x distance assuming your ZIP is known only because it was voluntarily submitted, you then get a catalog list of tomatoes 1-n miles away, the majority of which will hopefully be homegrown, organic, cheaper, and more convenient than going to the 'local' supermarket..

I envision a platform that functions more like an actual cooperative where the platform doesn't compete with vendors, existing vendors own their trademarked name/handle (a search for which returns a profile directory/portfolio), and all visitors/vendors own and control their own data. I'm open to any/all suggestions but thought a 5% platform fee added for online transactions sounds fair (all other transactions welcome and free). I like the idea of providing something that is too good to be true, but actually true..
