Hi Apoorva,
It's great to know that you're interested in contributing to GNU Astro. The
first thing you should do is to play with the software a bit and get a basic
gist of it. I'll recommend you to go through the GNU Astro manual here
<https://www.gnu.org/savannah-checkouts/gnu/gnuastro/manual/>. It has sections
dedicated to installing and awesome tutorials that you can follow. If there is
any problem, feel free to reach out:-)
Also, have a look at comment #14 where Mohammad has explained the various
steps to help you get started.
