Details:

If MakeCatalog's '--kernel' option is called more than once, it will use the
latest value. But this is contrary to Gnuastro's option precedence
<https://www.gnu.org/software/gnuastro/manual/html_node/Configuration-file-precedence.html>
(where the first one encountered should be the first one). I am busy
implementing the fix.
