Follow-up Comment #15, bug #63171 (project gnuastro):

I solved my previous doubts. Pedram, just by using your code the noise image
is different each time. You need also to use the option '--envseed' and
specify the type of the random seed generator. So, something like:


export GSL_RNG_TYPE=ranlxs1
export GSL_RNG_SEED=1665844464
astarithmetic m51.fits -h1 set-i i i / 10 mknoise-sigma -o noise.fits
--envseed


would generate always the same noised image. I will keep looking at this.
