Emacs does have a Texinfo mode (M-x texinfo-mode).
ASCII documentation is also welcome. If you can write something that
should go in the doc, but can't convert it to Texinfo, go ahead
and send it.
Revising the documentation is something that we need to do before
the 3.4 release.
