Hmm, I got it quite easily with my debian. For information:
http://packages.debian.org/stable/admin/cpuid

A couple months ago, I even found a Win32 port, don't recall
where though.

I found it quite good, specially since it gives some good
hints about cache sizes and 'stategies'.
