Porting to android == completely rewrite the thing. Android apps are Java and GnuGo is written in C. No knowledge of Linux needed. Androis has just Linux Kernel but not directly exposed to developers. Only through Java API, which is androids own API

Hi,

I'm trying to make gnu-go run on the Android platform, and would like to know if any other efforts are being done in this direction.

I'm familiar with Unix, C, C++, SQL, scripting and some other thingies, but not that familiar with Linux/Android, so would also appreciate any assistance. My main goal is to create/enhance a free application that will allow users to play against the machine.
