No benefit which I know about.
Anyway note SPI is established at the US, New York [1].

Yes, Euro can be used in more countries:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal,
Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.
Euro seems to be used by some millions more than USD:
* 327 million Europeans
* 305 million, United States population (2009 estimate)

Maybe there are more possible users at the Eurozone than at
the USD-land.
Proposal:
* hosting at the FSF servers (USA) and
* bank account at Europe if it is possible, else at USA.
That location could be related to the location of the guy
who will create and administer the bank account.
The location of the bank account limit by default the
currency to use in the donation-pledge-groups.
