IMHO the project should not delete the menu at left neither the log in box.
IMHO all that is information which needs to be exposed in some way.
IMHO the below text at bottom of the Matt's proposal is not enough:
"Problems? Questions? We're here to help ..."
IMHO the project needs to show the FAQ, the Charter, the Coders' guide, etc.
