I think that perhaps the project should focus on one linux distribution
for now. And I think it should be debian given that if we develop on
stable (woody) we will all at least be agreed on what dependencies
thereare and and exactl that packages are needed.

I've sent a note to Ian haywood to speak with me and give me a detailed
list of that packages, apps are needed to get gnumed running from a clean
desktop, and am awaiting his answer so I can write a more detailed How-to.

As for various distribution support, I think windows would have to be the
defacto standard to support for now, to at least let people see what the
software is like, and then make the switch over to linux if they like it.

I would like to hear from the others because I have not heard this
discussed on the list.

The other reason I think that one would want debian is that, we could
include the whole installation on a disk, perhaps even stream line that,
and once XFree, a reasonable WM, and Network card are working, all a
doctor would need to do would be to type 'apt-get install debian-med'
