Thanks for people putting with me.
Ended 'listening' to karsten, and seems liek debian's
unstable distro does still not have gtkand wxpython
v2.3. Went and ahead and built them form RPMS, which
works.

Now the quesiton is (postgres is up and running with a
gnumed db created) what exactly are the the login
parameters.
If they are written somewhere, please excuse me as I
did not find them, thanks
