Sure enough your /usr/tmp/ and /tmp/ sit on /dev/hda5 while
/home/richard/ sits on /dev/hda7. That might be the root of
the evil.
Output of "mount" would be helpful, too, to see the
filesystems on the partitions. Or "fdisk -l".
Hopefully fixed gmCfg in CVS.
