If you really desperately want to do that please use a
stop-gap row in _enum_hx_type and store your data in
clin_history with the type set to that value. Thus one can
later safely post-process whatever has been stored there.
Again, I'd strongly advise against putting application
meta-data into the clinical tables. They are intended to
hold clinical data. Fullstop. Please write your own tables
for application meta-data.
If we used that sort of bypassing the backend structure
we'd be much further along with GnuMed already. But that is
uninteresting as it would amount to making GnuMed a text
document viewer. We are not reinventing an HTML browser.
