max-redo.sh works quite well now, I've not had many problems the last 3 times I did a complete re-install. BTW, I'm doing this to keep up with db schema changes.I have written a script which wraps the installation of the GNUMed database. Go to http://gnumed.net/~ihaywood/ and try it out.
