Yes, AbiWord has it, and so has OpenOffice (http://udk.openoffice.org/python/python-bridge.html)

I found the OO UNO-Python bridge a bit cumbersome to use.

And as slow as a wet weekend. We tried using it to programmatically create nicely formatted statistical tables, after struggling with DocBook and XSLT. It worked, sort of, but was unusably slow for our purposes. In the end we decided to tell users just to cut-and-paste HTML tables from their browser into their word processor and do the final formatting of the tables themselves.
