I've got a rough idea of the inbox from your description .
There's emailed documents and emailed hl7 path/ radiology messages, as well
as other email to hold in the inbox. It's really a email client
viewer, with
also certain actions associated with the type of email. Clicking
documents should
pretty much work like any email , except pdf png, jpg, gif, doc, bmp,
rtf should automatically
bring up an associated viewer ( e.g. an area next to (right of) the
inbox long, tall area), instead of listing
attachments; if there is more than one attachment, then tabbed viewers.
Clicking a hl7 message, brings up the patients results browser with the
new results at the end, but
perhaps marked differently as not reviewed, and selected, with the
results in the viewer.
With documents and hl7 messages where it can be automatically assigned
which patient
a selected item is relevant to,
A mini patient viewer, with patient details, phx, meds, allergies, and
recent encounter text in chronological order could be present as well (
lower one fourth of screen ?)
Otherwise, if a shortlist can be made, then a patient finder with a list
of near matching patients in the first tab and on selecting a patient,
the mini patient viewer on the second tab. More tabs could contain
things like appointments (for patient recall), address book ( for
result consultation) , lab ordering ( for add on tests) , prescription(
for ringing the patient, and writing a script for pickup) , etc..
Is this the gist of your inbox?
