Companies are most welcome to make money from supporting or extending gnumed, but they should never gain any degree of control over gnumed.
What about setting up a foundation like the Python Software Foundation to - hold the copyright (copyleft) - make more possible the recognition of gnumed as an entity to - - be entitled to receive grants- - for work contributed (donated) to Gnumed to be able to be counted for tax purposes (I heard something like this may be allowed in Australia in support of Open Source
- - otherMaybe no rush to do this but to look at doing so over the next 1-2 years? The Python Software Foundation conducts its required periodic "meetings" online, it does not have to be structured purely democratically i.e. it is not required that all users of gnumed have voted representatives complicating the Foundation's ability to get things done (though some kind of input mechanism would be desirable).
