It can definitely be useful in some situations to be able to
use a "drop-in" client to access your data. Think unexpected
remote access. Think nursing home access where the IT people
are unhappy about installing a client. Sure, a Knoppix CD or
USB stick work, too, but it can't hurt having more options.
