thanks, will take a look;

some of the things oscar is doing , like connection pooling, is a little redundant, given it

runs on tomcat, and tomcat 5 has connection pooling as a configuration parameter,

( available about 3 years ago).

Oscar makes use of drugref for prescribing, and I believe drugref employs xml-
rpc, so whatever Oscar is using could be examined.

Hopefully Oscar people would be accepting to have additional interoperability
code incorporated into the main Oscar trunk. I don't know if the idea would
meet resistance at Oscar, out of concern that it would suffer if people were
helped to substitute modules of their own choosing.

But certainly users of "pure" Oscar (well, of Oscar + drugref) would want
nothing broken as a consequence. That would make it important for code
alterations to test that the preference for the proposed navigation and
trapping functions had been set "on" before actioning anything more, or
differently, to what Oscar would have done.
