When bootstrapping latest database the user is asked for postgres user
password and gm-db password. while this makes sense it doesn't on the
subsequent updates 2->3, 3->4, 4->5 etc. It hardly changes inbetween. It is a
common sour of problem as I often mistype it along the way

It'd be a bit cumbersome.

However, as we no require PostgreSQL 8.1 we may be able to
make use of $PGPASSFILE.

Can you describe the problem in a bit more detail ?
