Turns out once sed and find made it build locally it went through the 
buildservice without problems.

Checkout http://software.opensuse.org/search and type 'gnumed'
If you are on SUSE you can use 1-click install

@Jim , maybe we could link this in out Wiki somehow ?

Next step will be to build packages for other distros except Debian which is 
taken care of by Andreas in an excellent fashion.

Hope we can get the Ubuntu release policy problems sorted out.
