This is once again Ubuntu related I believe as all other distributions (I know 
of) carry 0.2.8.6.

Ubuntu has the 0.2.8.6 version in a seperate repository as well but users 
might not be aware of those.

I have a feeling that many answers here on this list do not reach the end 
user/sender. I will post a blog entry so this specific problem might reach 
the potential end user.
