The Ubuntu you are running under has a version that has seen
6 bug fix releases. Check here for how to upgrade:

It seems to me your config files do not define any backends
or the backend definitions are faulty. If you post the files

        /home/blnet/.gnumed/gnumed.conf and
        /etc/gnumed/gnumed.conf

we can tell for sure.
