Hey ... maybe it´s not absolutely "pactical" , but you can´t deny it would be a COOL feature ;-)

Rogerio (loving every moment of this - never has a Pediatric/Family Practice 12h shift been so much fun)

PS: By the way I managed to connect to the USB server with the USB client, in ONE of these dinosaur computers, but not with the other, since I think my pendrive is trying to suicide itself (it has been working strangely these days) I will try it again next weekend with a new stick :) ** fingers crossed**

PS2: The downside is that these dinosaurs are so sluggish that it took me 2 hours !!!! to unzip the server package (really ... I was counting), but this can´t be held against Sebastian´s patch since it takes almost a full minute to open Google ;-)

The only downside I see is it being Windows only ... can I configure Linux PostgreSQL to save the database ina USB ??

I would have thought that a database dumped from Windows would be cross-readable from Linux.

But I will have to recheck Sebastian's post... I failed to recall --- in this whole thread --- that in order for you to run GNUmed (not just the client, but all of GNUmed) from a USB drive would require to be able to access a server which sounded, in your case, that you would be wanting the server also to be on the USB drive.

I did not think that was in scope for what was possible (or at least practical) on the USB drive!
