So we could make the DB create patients (at least) with only Name LastName ? This seems reasonable to me ... even better if we can flag this patient as "not demografically complete status"

I think we agreed that it could be useful on a per-patient basis to be able to maintain a listing of which other clinicians outside the praxis are involved in the patient's care. This could be clinicians who referred to us, and clinicians to whom we referred the patient, and others outside the praxis which are useful to note as being involved in care. This can include the patient's regular GP when the patient is not getting their regular care in GNUmed, only intermittent or seasonal care.

So if the ability to maintain, for each patient, depends on the external clinicians being created as persons in GNUmed we would be back to a problem if gender (like dob) are required. I may have a patient who was referred by another to an oncologist I do not yet know... surname Lin, given names Mah Wah whose report I have received. Does anyone seriously thing I should phone (or get my secretary to phone) the doctors' office to ask if they are a man or woman? And what if the office is closed? Stop my workflow?
