I am getting both a status line message and a popup just
like any other client.

It is intended to not give the user a false sense of
security. They should disconnect *now*. They *can* try to
save their current work but they better hurry up *now*.
Users will inevitably cry "but it said 5 minutes and I saved
my progress note at 4:59 where did it go ?"

No. Use one of a million operating system user activity
timeout locking screensavers for that. Remnant code
deactivated.
