PS the "no difference" remained the same even after heeding the caveat in 9.7.4 at

http://qref.sourceforge.net/Debian/reference/ch-tune.en.html#s-x-cjk

where

locale -a

does now generate

en_CA.utf8
en_DK.utf8

but still ignored by GNUmed when called as suggested by Karsten

You can safely experiment with LC_TIME by running GNUmed like this:

- go to the directory which contains gm-from-cvs.sh
- run

&> LC_TIME=en_DK.utf8 ./gm-from-cvs.sh

and you should at least see a difference in some date
formatting.

No difference :-(

When from the console I also ran

export LC_TIME=en_DK.utf8

and then ran

locale -a

is still showed

en_CA.utf8

arrgh!
