I will maybe document somewhere like a

        Problems FAQ

that when the user cannot seem to search a patient or move GNUmed  
from the current patient, to look in the window title bar and  
identify whether it says

        gnumed-client:9999

which would be typical of an instance of gnumed having been launched  
in slave mode and therefore being under the "remote control" of some  
other application or process.
