The Acrobat Reader solution is a nice and pragmatic if
somewhat limiting solution - it only supports PDF. While for
now that's may be fine but remember that gm-print_doc will
also be called from the document archive if a user decides
to "print the document" or parts thereof. In that case
arbitrary file types can be handed to the printer selection
frontend.
However - exactly to mitigate that type of problem -
gm-print_doc is called with a print job type as the first
argument so it can due a smart decision based on that. For
example, when printing the medication list, the second
argument is "medication_list". When printing documents from
the archive the type is "generic_document".
Jim, what is the equivalent call sequence for Acrobat Reader
on Mac ?
