Is the purpose of this email to let us know that
1) there are parts of GNUmed which, not yet having been optimized, might run
very slowly
2) you found one such area, and the "tweaks" you mentioned above are (or will
soon) be folded into the source? Will it be in 0.7x or in 0.8?
