I will look at those but for the macports version of Pg is not that important.
I remember that enterprisedb has a postgres version for Mac. I guess this can 
be used for production systems. The same company provides the only version for 
Windows.

They are using the closed source bitrock installer which I personally do not 
like but this is not an issue here. It works for them.

Mac philosophy does not really care about shared use of resources. That means 
for the time being there is little value in providing a macport for the gnumed 
client.

I have to think about the value of a macport for the gnumed-server.

We should be looking into using py2app or pyinstaller to package gnumed 
client.

If anyone could verify that macports now works to get gnumed running from a 
tarball that would be great.
