Please try
1) install another wxpython program such as python-wxglade and see if that
crashes
2) if that works remove gnumed-client-0.7.4 including all config files in
~/.gnumed and ~/gnumed
and install the 0.6 version that comes with lucid (you might have to force
that version in synaptic or remove the PPA for the time being)
