I don't believe GNUmed-current supports this kind of functionality (or even a place in which to store alternate, unaccented values within a single language).

Sometimes when you use certain browser/os mix it is quite imopossible to use accents. I am now typing in a android smartphone with no accents. So the ability to find cities without the need to accentuate correctly is a plus.

Hi Rogerio,

I am having a look at the sql that you sent to Karsten

In that file, there is a line

       INSERT INTO `cep_unico` VALUES (1,'Acrelândia','acrelandia','69945-000','AC'),
       (2,'Assis Brasil','assis brasil','69935-000','AC'),
       (3,'BrasilĂ©ia','brasileia','69932-000','AC'),

whose purpose seems to assist to search without accents. Is this a common problem when people use computers in Brasil?

Does GNUmed support of UTF-8 help to solve this problem after the data would be imported into Postgres?
