This makes it pretty likely that it is a DATA problem:
(Xe)LaTeX cannot handle some (unusual) text (might be just
one character) which was entered into the medical record of
that patient.

I would like to ask for a log with --debug on and also the
content of the corresponding sandbox directory where LaTeX
tries to compile the document.
