To check that you can open pgadmin. Connec to the postgresql you have installed (use port 5432 in pgadmin) and let pgadmin tell you which version you have.
- version 8.4. Inside database gnumed_v18 and v19 are seen. I can not varify whether v19 is complete and errorfree, but gnumed client 1.4 fails to connect saying schema related problem.
- postgresql 9.3 is not there, but on other machine (win7, netbook) I varified that two can co-exist
- I will get back to you regarding flavour of psql (psql, psql+, postgre plus ) later as I am at another hospital
