As far as I can see the intial complaint was a several second pause when 
tabbing through the field. When is encountered in daily routine and how much 
grief does it cause ?

Is some sort of lazy loading an option. If one stays in the field for some 
action the data would be loaded but if one is just tabbing through no loading 
would take place ?
