Me too.

  Have a look at the templates for the theme you're using and you should
 be able to change this.

I'm using the "Tabular" templates and there already is an
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
within the header of each file. IMHO ISO-8859-1 (Western European Languages) should be enough to display umlauts even if they are not coded as &auml; ?!?
