Check that the file /etc/gnump3d/mime.types exists, and that the
server has been restarted since you moved the data:
/etc/init.d/gnump3d restart

Bad plan. Do not make the files writable to the server that could
open your music to corruption/badness(tm).

No.
Stop the server and start it again.
If that fails to work stop it, and start it manually with debuggin
enabled:
/etc/init.d/gnump3d stop
gnump3d --debug
Then post any error messages here.
