  Only files with a .html suffixe are treated as special. See
 bin/gnump3d2 for this section of code:

                if ( -e $testPath )
                    if ( $testPath =~ /\.html$/i )
                        my $mime = $mime_cache{ lc( &getSuffix( $testPath ) )
};                        my $header = getHTTPHeader( 200, $mime );

  You could change that to read:

    if ( $testPath =~ /\.html?$/i )

  To allow .htm + .html.
